Problem:
Gremlin released a new brand design approach in 2022. As Gremlin moved into broader technology offerings, they needed a motion identity that could reflect new brand personality traits, including “innovative,” “Savvy,” and “Methodical.”
Approach:
We approached the design concepts wanting to build in elements that reflected the product design but left room for Gremlin to expand its services. One key element of Gremlin’s services is generating easy for a variety of software tests, displayed as an easy to understand percentage wheel. The motion for this logo builds on the idea of this ever-changing, often improving score wheel. Abstracted data elements are crunched together and simplified, then expanded out again into a final score before resolving to the wordmark.
I packaged the final logo animation into a MOGRT template for Gremlin’s video team. Simple dropdown menu controls allow any editor to choose pre-determined brand color schemes, change the background opacity, and adjust custom colors. Packaging as many options as possible into one MOGRT creates maximum flexibility for the logo bumper to be used in a variety of contexts, from bumpers, to presentation decks, to looping signage.
